- Both are broad daily powders with vitamins, minerals, plant ingredients and live cultures, and both contain CoQ10 (50 mg each).
- AG1's UK drink panel lists no vitamin D or iodine. 4VIA's morning scoop includes vitamin D3 50 µg and iodine 150 µg. (AG1 offers D3+K2 drops as a separate product.)
- 4VIA is a two-formula routine: a morning drink plus a night capsule (Rest Phase™). AG1 is one morning drink.
- 4VIA adds NR and spermidine, ingredients studied in the biology of ageing. AG1 doesn't list them.
- Price per serving: 4VIA £2.30 (1-Month Supply) or £1.77 (3-Month Supply) vs AG1 £2.63 (30) or £2.50 (60). Bought once, AG1 is £3.23 and 4VIA £3.27.
AG1 made the all-in-one powder famous. But a lot has been learned since it was designed, and the label shows it: no vitamin D, no iodine, no night formula, and nothing from the newer science of ageing.
Here's how the two compare, figure by figure. Every AG1 number comes from AG1's own UK website, with the date we checked it.

What separates them
1. A routine for the whole day, not just the morning. Your body doesn't stop at breakfast. 4VIA pairs the morning scoop with Rest Phase™, a night formula, and splits magnesium and zinc between morning and night. AG1 is one morning drink. Nothing in the bottle is there for the night.
2. The basics are missing from AG1's drink. AG1's UK panel lists no vitamin D and no iodine. In the UK, NHS advice is that many adults should take vitamin D in autumn and winter, and iodine is a nutrient many UK diets fall short on. AG1 sells D3+K2 drops separately. In 4VIA they're in the scoop: D3 50 µg, K2 100 µg, iodine 150 µg.
3. Ageing biology, not just greens. 4VIA includes NR (125 mg) and spermidine (5 mg), two of the most studied compounds in the biology of ageing. AG1 has neither. NR reliably raises NAD⁺ in human trials; what that means for long-term health is still being studied (see NR and NAD⁺).
4. Cultures counted when you take them. Both list 10 billion CFU. AG1 counts its cultures at manufacture. 4VIA counts at the end of shelf life, the number still there when you take the last scoop.
5. More for less on subscription. £1.77 a serving on 4VIA's 3-Month Supply against £2.50 for AG1's best subscription price: about 29% less. On a single month, £2.30 against £2.63.
Where AG1 has the edge
- Product-specific trials. AG1 has published small, short trials on its own formula, several with company involvement. 4VIA hasn't run a finished-product trial yet, and we say so.
- Sport certification. AG1 states Informed Sport and Cologne List certification. 4VIA tests every batch and publishes the results, but isn't third-party certified yet.
- Higher amounts of a few nutrients, such as vitamin E and B12. Higher isn't automatically better (see Systems nutrition vs high doses).
- One-off price: £97 against our £98.
The bottom line
If you want one familiar morning drink and already take vitamin D, AG1 does that. If you want daily nutrition and ageing biology in one routine, with vitamin D, K2 and iodine in the scoop and a night formula included, 4VIA covers more of your day for less.
Either way: check the total of everything you take against upper limits, and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you're pregnant, on medication or managing a condition.
